Donald Trump Announces Funding for Climate Research to be Ripped From NASA

NASA is Only Global Agency Monitoring Climate Change & Greenhouse Gas Emissions

Donald Trump has announced another highly politicized move with his decision to remove all climate change monitoring funds from NASA.

The move to ax NASA’s climate funding has been thinly veiled under the premise of keeping NASA focused on deep space.

It’s widely known that Trump himself is a climate change denier who has worked hard at surrounding himself with lobbyist, billionaires, and under-qualified appointees.

Keep in mind that his appointee to lead the transformation of the EPA is a leader of an anti-environmentalist movement that has lobbied to undermine the Endangered Species Act among other key pieces of conservation legislation.

Trump presidential campaign advisor, Bob Walker, has referred to some of the most sophisticated climate science on the planet as a form of politically correct environmental monitoring.

In War, People Say History is Defined by the Victors

It appears the concept of revisionist history is being deployed to scrub away any mechanism that monitors or works to ensure the environment remains sustainable for future generations under the Trump administration.

Trump’s commitment to undermine all forms of environmental science is further demonstration of this pattern.

The campaign has consistently called on fictitious data to justify their left-field positions including a statement that only half of climate scientists believe in climate change. The real story is that nearly 97% of climatologists believe climate change has been influenced by humans.

Kevin Trenberth is a Senior Scientists with the National Center for Atmospheric Research. He’s considered to be one of the top minds on the planet in his field. His work has been cited over 50,000 times in academic research studies and papers. Dr. Trenberth expressed that the decision to defund climate research from NASA will essentially “put us back in the dark ages” for climate study.

“It could put us back into the ‘dark ages’ of almost the pre-satellite era. It would be extremely short sighted.” – Dr. Kevin Trenberth of the National Center for Atmospheric Research

Defunding NASA Is a Political Cheap Shot

The move to cut finding on critical work comes as another politicized cheap shot. It’s clear this is a part of a larger anti-environment agenda because it was announced before any review was conducted of the space agency.

Final Thought & Editorial

Perhaps committing NASA to deep space exploration will make more sense once Trump is done destroying the planet with the explosion of growth the fossil fuel industry is ramping up for.

In other news, 2016 is on target to go down as the hottest year in recorded history.
